NEW DELHI: A Delhi court has quashed an order directing lodging of an FIR against a policeman for allegedly forging the statement of a witness in a case, observing that a harsh view was taken towards him without considering his medical condition.

“The revisionist has already undergone two heart surgeries and also suffered a paralytic attack which has come to the notice of magistrate as he was not even able to sign the statement given by him,” judge Sudesh Kumar said.

The court also noted that the assistant sub-inspector (traffic), was a government servant on the verge of retirement.

The judge allowed a departmental inquiry against the cop as ordered by the magisterial court.
