‘Feeder buses from every Metro station in six months’
NEW DELHI: Transport minister Satyendar Jain promised feeder buses from every Metro station within six months to improve last mile connectivity.
He was replying to AAP MLA Somnath Bharti’s question in the ongoing Delhi Assembly on the lack of last mile connectivity in Malviya Nagar.
Many other MLAs joined in and demanded bus services in the locality.
“Currently, at every road, same type of buses are plying. We have planned to introduce different buses at different routes. In six months, feeder bus service will be available at every Metro station,” said Jain.
Jain also admitted that Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is facing a loss as the fleet is getting old.
“We are taking initiatives to increase revenue through non-fare mode. Proposal to generate revenue through advertisement is underway,” said Jain.
