The first incident was reported from a scrap shop located in southeast Delhi’s Okhla area early Tuesday.

“Eighteen fire tenders were rushed to the location and the fire was doused within 45 minutes,” said a senior fire service official.

Fire officials said a short circuit was suspected to be the reason behind the blaze.

In a similar incident, fire broke out in the control room of the Janakpuri East

metro station in west Delhi around 10 am.

“The blaze was reported from the air conditioner in the metro station’s control room,” said a senior fire official.
