: A 25-year-old research student of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his friend’s house in Munirka Vihar on Monday, said police. No suicide note was found at the spot.

The police said the man was a student of MPhil. “He went to his friend’s house in Munirka Vihar for lunch. He went to a room to sleep. As he did not respond to their calls, his friends called the police,” said a police officer. “The police opened the door and found the man hanging from the ceiling fan.”

The deputy commissioner of police of south Delhi said, “He was depressed over personal issues. The incident didn’t have anything to do with the university.”
