Chandra, who wanted to catch a flight on Monday, withdrew his plea as Justice Indermeet Kaur declined to grant him the immediate relief.

"The petition is dismissed as withdrawn," the court said.

Earlier, Special CBI judge O P Saini had rejected Chandra's plea seeking permission to go Singapore for the treatment of his minor son, who has been suffering from a kidney problem earlier and now been diagnosed with diabetes.

Chandra had sought permission to go abroad between December 24 and 29 saying the doctor has given him appointment for December 27.

CBI, however, had opposed the plea saying probe regarding the money trail in the 2G case was still on.

"The probe in the case is being looked by two agencies, the CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED). Investigation related to money trail in the 2G scam is still going on. ED had sent Letters Rogatory to its counterparts in Singapore and the agency is yet to receive the reply from them," CBI had said.

The CBI, in its reply, had opposed the plea saying someone else could accompany the child to Singapore for treatment.
