3 held for sodomy, murder of minor

Delhi Police have arrested three persons including a juvenile for murdering an 8-year-old boy after sodomising him in Jaitpur area of southeast Delhi.

The boy’s father had approached the police on Wednesday claiming that his son was missing and he suspected that he was kidnapped. Later in the evening, the boy’s body was found in Lakhpat Colony in Jaitpur area.

“The accused, identified as Atul Garg (21) and Chhotu (18), were apprehended on Thursday and the juvenile has also been traced and legal action is being taken. There was no injury mark on the body of the boy.

The body was sent for post-mortem and doctor opined smothering as the cause of death. Sodomy was also confirmed by the doctor,” said Ajay Chaudhry, additional commissioner of police (southeast).

During investigations, a witness named Deepak told police that the boy was last seen with three boys of the locality Atul, Chhotu and a minor boy.

Atul and Chhotu were traced and during questioning, they confessed to the crime. “They lured the boy with a packet of eatables. They took him to the first floor of an under construction building and sodomised him. The boy threatened that he will complain to his father. Fearing police action, they decided to kill the boy,” Chaudhry added.
