Senior officers associated with investigations into the case said they had sent the said suicide note for forensic examination.

“The note that said he was unhappy with his final posting has been sent for analysis. This will be matched with other specimens of his writing to verify its authenticity given the claims that have been made in it before investigation can proceed further,” said an officer.

Rajpal Singh was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his house located in Dwarka Sector 5 on Friday evening.

He was currently serving his final posting as additional director general (ADG) of the National Cadet Corps in Patna since September 2011 - his last since he was due to retire on August 31.

“We are verifying whether he was depressed due to marital reasons,” the police officer said.
