Allow smaller plots: MCD

To keep a check on unauthorised construction in the city, the MCD has decided to approach the Central government to allow sub-division of plots in the city.

To keep a check on unauthorised construction in the city, the MCD has decided to approach the Central government to allow sub-division of plots in the city.

“We are going to request the government to grant us permission to carry out sub division of plots,” said Ram Kishan Singhal, chairman of the standing committee of the MCD.

The civic agency claims if permission is granted, it will be able to earn Rs. 500 crore per year. “It will help create one lakh rooms in the city,” said Deep Mathur, director press and information, MCD.
