Azad reviews situation as swine flu toll crosses 100

As the death count in swine flu crossed the 100 mark in the country, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday held a high-level meeting to take stock of the situation.

As the death count in swine flu crossed the 100 mark in the country, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday held a high-level meeting to take stock of the situation.

The meeting was attended among others by Health Secretary Naresh Dayal, Director of National Institute of Communicable Diseases Shivlal, Secretary Health Research V M Katoch and Joint Secretary Vineet Chowdhary, officials said.

During the over hour-long meeting, Azad took stock of the entire situation as well as measures being taken to contain the disease.

Nearly four thousand people have been affected by swine flu till date in the country.
