"Tharoor has not denied that his OSD was present at the Kochi IPL auction... (There is) more than extra interest of the OSD of a sitting minister who is present in the auction. His name is Joseph, as you all know," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters.

Congress sources have also voiced their unhappiness over the conduct of Joseph, who has made controversial tweets and statements in the past when Tharoor was having trouble with his own party.

Even as the controversy over Tharoor's tweet on travelling "cattle class" was afresh, Joseph re-tweeted remarks by others to defend the Minister of State for External Affairs, who invited criticism from Congress for equating economy class with cattle class.
