BJP slams govt for tax on CNG
Former finance minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jagdish Mukhi criticised the Delhi government for burdening the city with a proposed tax of 5% on CNG.
Former finance minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jagdish Mukhi criticised the Delhi government for burdening the city with a proposed tax of 5% on CNG.

Mukhi said the Congress government has "betrayed" the people of Delhi by presenting a "lacklustre" budget and proposing no relief.
"It is a lacklustre budget which has nothing for the people reeling under high food prices. The budget will further burden the common man," he said while initiating discussion on the budget.
Criticising levying of tax on CNG, Mukhi said it will lead to rise in auto, taxi and bus fares. "The government must withdraw the VAT on CNG."
He also slammed the government for "doing nothing" for the farmers of Delhi whose land has been acquired by the government and demanded a law to prohibit acquisition of agricultural land. Several Congress MLAs also met chief minister Sheila Dikshit and demanded rollback on tax on CNG on Tuesday.
But four-time Congress MLA Mukesh Sharma described the budget as a people-friendly budget. "I thank Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for presenting a balanced budget in which a number of welfare schemes have been announced. The budget will prove to be the last nail in the coffin of the BJP, which has no concern for the poor and deprived sections," Sharma said.
