Fifteen-year-old Raj Kumar was crossing a road at Khanpur chowk, police said. At about 9.15 pm, a Blueline on route 419 hit him, said an officer.

“The driver was overspeeding and he did not see the victim crossing the road. He ran over the victim. The driver is absconding and we have registered a case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence,” said the officer.

Raj Kumar lived in Khanpur along with his father and two brothers, said a police officer. He worked with them in their charpoy-making business, the officer added.
