According to police, 38-year-old Virender Prakash was driving the Swift Dzire and 45-year-old Balbir Singh was sitting next to him. Around 12.30am, after crossing Rajokri flyover, the car turned turtle. "Prakash may have lost control of the car after hitting divider," a police officer said requesting anonymity.
Both of them were posted at Saket police station in south Delhi. They were taken to AIIMS trauma centre where Prakash was declared dead on arrival. Singh's condition was critical. "He was not fit for statement so the exact reason of accident couldn't be established. We conducted the medical examination and they were not drunk," the officer added.
A case was registered at Vasant Kunj police station.
