CBI seeks court sanction for narco test on Arushi parents

The Arushi murder case, which rocked the country a year and a half ago, returned to the spotlight on Monday, with the CBI seeking permission from a Ghaziabad court to conduct narco tests on Arushi’s parents, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar.

When Arushi was first found murdered on May 16, 2008, along with the family domestic help Hemraj, suspicion had fallen on her father Rajesh, who was jailed by the Noida police for around 50 days.

With the CBI taking over, suspicion shifted to various assistants and domestic helps of the Talwars and their close friends, the Durranis. With the CBI’s fresh application, the needle turns to the Talwar again.

The Talwars said they were ready to submit themselves.

The Ghaziabad court on Monday heard the CBI’s application, which said its probe team found fresh clues, requiring the Talwars to undergo narco tests.
