The accused, identified as Neeraj Pal, is involved in several cases registered against him in Outer and North West Delhi. Police said the court of an Additional Sessions Judge

was to pronounce judgment on a robbery case he was involved in in Begumpur, on Saturday.

Police said he was accompanied by two other criminals — Rohit and Ranjit Bihari, both of whom were involved in the said case.

After his appearance, police were escorting Neeraj back to the lock up at the court when he excused himself to go to the washroom. Before the police could react, he reportedly pushed the personnel and fled.
