Rajpal Chauhan, owner of the truck that was carrying sand illegally mined out of Yamuna, was on the run. He had been accompanying the truck in a car and allegedly prodded the truck driver to break the barricade on Palla Chowk.

The dumper crashed into a PCR van and ran over constable Mahavir Singh after hitting the barricade.
The truck driver, Pappu, was caught after the dumper hit a car in Delhi’s Badarpur while Chauhan managed to flee in his Santro car.
Chauhan, a native of Alwar, managed to flee while driver. was caught. "He will be produced before the court on Saturday, " said Darshan Lal Malik, ACP, Sarai Kwaja.
A team of police officials had been deployed in his native village and posters of his picture were distributed to all police stations of Alwar and neighbouring districts during the manhunt to nab Chauhan.
After this incident, the police had launched a massive crackdown against the sand mafia in Faridabad and Palwal.
