Cop shoots himself dead inside police station

A Delhi Police head constable shot himself dead at his rest room inside the Kanjhawla police station on Sunday afternoon. Police said, in his suicide note, Tejpal, 49, has blamed a woman and her son. Police are questioning them.

Tejpal, a resident of Kheri Asra village of Jhajjar district in Haryana, shot himself in the head between 3 pm and 4.15 pm, after returning from an accident call. He had joined the forced in 1984 and was transferred to Kanjhawala police station in June 2011.

No one at the police station heard the gun shot. "He had returned from an accident call at 3 pm. At 4:15 pm, another staff went to his rest room and found him lying in the pool of blood," a senior police officer aid.

In a separate incident, a 17-year-old girl died in mysterious circumstances after falling from the third floor of her hostel in west Delhi's Janakpuri area on Sunday. Initial investigation suggested that she committed suicide but her family has alleged foul play.
