Holding assistant sub-inspector Umar Mohd, 56, and constable Saleem Khan, 42, guilty of demanding bribe and committing misconduct as public servants, the court of special judge BR Kedia also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on each of them.
"The social fabric is destroyed by corrupt practices in public services. The cancer of corruption is spreading its tentacles in social life to such an extent that the belief of common man in institutional framework is obliterated," Kedia said.
