Delhi university second cut-off list out

There is some good news for students who had failed to make it to their chosen college or course. Cut-off marks for many colleges have registered a dip ranging between 0.5 per cent to 5 per cent on an average and in some cases even more. Surprisingly, Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), which normally closes admissions after the first list, has declared a second list for Economics Honours in which several seats are still unoccupied.

It has reduced its cut-off marks for Economics by 0.25 per cent. In a situation where students miss admission for the fraction of a percentage, colleges like Hindu, Hans Raj, Ramjas, Miranda House, Khalsa, Kirori Mal and Daulat Ram College (Women’s) have all cut their cut-off marks for a range of subjects, not just science courses.

At Miranda House admissions are still open despite the number of sanctioned seats being already full. Hindu College has not just kept admissions open for most of its courses, it has slashed the cut-off considerably for several courses like BA Programme (-2 per cent), Hindi (-3 per cent), Political Science (-2 to -5) and Sanskrit (-8 to -10).

Colleges like Hans Raj and Ramjas have reduced their cut-off marks marginally in a few courses. In fact, colleges like Hindu, Hans Raj and Miranda House that had declared high cut-offs for Bcom Honours and Economics have all kept the admissions open for these courses, slashing the required percentage by 0.5 to 2.75 per cent.
