The company later closed the unit where 1,800 employees work on three floors of the building.
Though the employees had been “feeling suffocation” since Saturday, 42 employees, mostly women, felt unconscious on Monday. “I felt unconscious soon after seeing many of my colleagues fainting,” said Rajni who works in Shahi Exports company in Sector 28. A resident of Patel Chowk in Faridabad, Rajni said she had even heard of an employee dying two days ago.
Company officials said the said employee was suffering from some disease and the suffocation due to heat had nothing to do with the death.
