"Our security was always on high alert. We had put into place a new security system after the serial blasts in Delhi. It is a tragic time that we are living in. The security of our patrons are our top most priority," an executive of the Park Hotel located in Central Delhi said.

The scene outside another two of the many high-end hotels in the capital was no different with entry and exit of the Taj Palace and the Maurya Sheraton were put under tight security.

Barricades were placed outside the hotels with private security guards keeping a close eye on the visitors.

Cars were not allowed to stop in front of the hotel as guards could be seen asking the drivers to park ahead.

"Security has been beefed up at our hotels in Delhi but our concern remains Mumbai. Things are just fine here," an executive with the Taj Group of hotels said.

Incidentally, the Group's hotel in Mumbai was- attacked by terrorists with heavy gunfire being heard coming from inside the hotel even as blood soaked guests were seen being brought out into the waiting ambulances.

The Delhi police has stepped up the security in the national capital in the wake of terror attacks in Mumbai.
