The Principal Special Judge for CBI Cases, Chennai convicted former Assistant Secretary, Railway Recruitment Board, Chennai, S Govindarajan and wife Sathyabama and a family member G Srinivasan, former senior operations officer of Bharat Petroleum, for possession of assets of Rs 6.5 lakh, disproportionate to their known sources of income, a CBI spokesperson said.
A fine of Rs 10 lakh each was imposed on Govindarajan and Srinivasan. Sathyabama was fined Rs 5 lakh.
The court also ordered confiscation of cash seized from the residence of Govindarajan, bank deposits, shares and bank balances amounting to Rs 5.36 lakh, the official said.
