Tara and Bammi gave her a representation and asked the President to look into their problems of low pension and lack of medical facilities.

Tara also pointed out that while everyone got increased pensions after the sixth pay commission was approved, the freedom fighters were ignored.

"We asked her to restore the VIP status of freedom fighters and also restore the 2% freedom fighters' quota in schemes," said Tara.

Patil promised to look into their specific problems.
