Singh, 45, had driven his employer Ritu Danga and her family to the court when she asked him to stand in queue for the visitor’s pass so that she could attend a case. She herself she went ahead to find a parking place for her car.

Singh was in the queue near the gate number 5 when the devastating blast occurred. “He had called me barely a few minutes ago. But when I tried calling him, his phone was switched off. Next thing I know is I got a call from my lawyer informing about the blast,” Danga said.

Singh was taken to the RML Hospital soon and was operated upon. The impact of the blast has led to internal bleeding. His leg is badly hurt and he has suffered multiple injuries.

Danga and others soon rushed him to the hospital and also informed his relatives.

A resident of Nihal Vihar near Nangloi in northwest Delhi, Singh’s family comprises his wife and two sons. One of his relatives Pritam Singh reached the hospital in the afternoon.

“He is still critical. There is lot of internal bleeding… The doctors are not telling us anything about him,” Danga told HT late at night from the RML hospital.
