Help at hand for Gurgaon’s elders

After the success of the Quick Reaction Teams (QRT) last year, the DLF has now launched an Emergency Response Team (ERT). This team has been set up to respond to any emergency needs of senior citizens.

The ERT will respond immediately to take care of them in the event of abnormal situations such as robbery, fire, sudden ailments (heart attack) and accidents (in-house or road).

The ERT would consist of a van with three commandoes trained in unarmed combat, first-aid, firefighting and evacuation skills. The ERT van will also be equipped with fire extinguishers, first-aid box, stretchers and other disaster management paraphernalia.

In case of an emergency, the ERT can be summoned by calling the round-the-clock Central Monitoring System at the office of SLV securities at 0124-4141441.

“After the successful launch of the QRT, we have launched another pilot project called ERT in DLF Phase-III. Based on the feedback, we plan to launch the same in other parts of DLF City too,” said Mahender Singh, chief of security, DLF (Residential).

For round-the-clock monitoring of the locality in two shifts of 12 hours each, the ERT van would be manned by a driver and the three commandoes, said Harikiran Kaur, the DGM (CRM), SLV Securities.

“The commandoes are trained in unarmed combat and use of firearms, also. They are also trained to handle riot-like situations and will carry electric stun guns that immobilise criminals temporarily,” Kaur added.

Regarding the charges for subscribing to ERT service, Kaur said, DLF will tie up with RWAs and the charges will be nominal. However, if anyone wants to subscribe individually, they are welcome.
