Housewife molested

A 25-year-old housewife was molested and her clothes torn by three drunk men at a fruit and vegetable market in Sewa Nagar in south Delhi at around 9 pm on Monday, police said. The woman's husband was allegedly beaten by the men when he came to her rescue. HT reports.

The accused have been held, said police. "When the woman's husband confronted the three men for passing lewd remarks at her, they beat him up. They also thrashed the woman and tore her clothes," said a senior police officer.

"The accused managed to flee in a Santro car. The woman noted down few digits of the registration number and the police traced and seize the car," said HGS Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).

The accused have been identified as Praveen Ram (25), Pradeep Singh (22) and Sandeep Pal (20): all residents of Kotla Mubarkapur.

A case has been registered.
