A junior warrant officer (JWO) of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been found guilty of possessing classified material and disciplinary action is being initiated against him.

CDs, which he was not authorised to be in possession of, were found on the JWO posted in Chabua in Assam last year.

IAF spokesperson Wing Commander Gerard Galway said a probe had found the JWO guilty of possessing the CDs but ruled out an espionage angle.

Sources denied the reports that the JWO was possessing sensitive information on the SU-30MKIs deployed in northeast.

He was in the meteorological department and could not have extracted any info, IAF sources said. They said action would be initiated against his superiors including a wing commander.
