IB rules out terrorist hand
The investigating team has so far ruled out the involvement of any "criminal element" but said that it was too early to come to a conclusion, reports Vijaita Singh.
The Delhi Police team probing the murder of ACP Rajbir Singh has received inputs from the Intelligence Bureau (IB), which has ruled out the involvement of any terrorist organisation in the killing.

Senior officers, however, said that the IB was still working on the details and may take time to gather more information about the murder. Soon after Rajbir was killed, the Delhi Police had launched a parallel investigation, though unofficially, as the murder took place in the jurisdiction of the Gurgaon Police.
The investigating team has so far ruled out the involvement of any "criminal element" but said that it was too early to come to a conclusion.
"We contacted the IB that has given us vital inputs about the case. As Rajbir was instrumental in eliminating several terrorists, we had a suspicion that some group might have been behind the murder. But as of now, the IB has not accessed any such detail, but said that they still have several fronts to investigate," said a senior Crime Branch officer.
The Delhi Police has mounted a technical surveillance. All the mobile numbers belonging to Rajbir are under scanner. The police have taken out the call details and are working on it.
A Delhi Police team headed by two ACPs of the Crime Branch -- Udaiveer Rathi and Sanjay Bhatia -- is working to put together the missing links.
Sources said that one of the teams had been entrusted the task of extricating vital information pertaining to the case from Gurgaon. A team of Delhi Police visited the crime scene and the Gurgaon Civil Hospital on Wednesday.
A senior officer said that the land deal that the accused was talking about might have been a ploy to save his skin.
"The accused has a case of cheating registered against him at the Civil Lines police station in Gurgaon. He probably cooked up this land deal theory after consulting his lawyers and friends. He surrendered two hours after allegedly killing Rajbir," said the officer.
