Ignored of basic amenities

The workers, who are conducting street scaping work and constructing a tank at the site live in abject poverty.

In front of the tarpaulin tents where the workers live there is a pool of stagnant water that never dries.

"Everyone living here is ill. There are too many mosquitoes here and there is no electricity at night, when we need it the most," said Munni, a 30-year-old mother of four.

The family of six lives in a 5X5 tent. There are close to 50 such tents at the site, the occupants of which use the dirty stagnated water to wash their hands and clothes.

There is no toilet at the site either and children defecating in the open are easily visible.
