A 22-member delegation of Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) left for Iraq on Monday where they will set up a camp in association with Chalabi Trust there and Pakistan's Haswa Trust.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi flagged off the delegation from her residence which will reach the middle-east country.

According to D R Mehta of BMVSS, the delegation will be in Iraq for a month and during this period they will distribute the famed Jaipur Foot for those injured in the wars that ravaged the country.

"We will fix artificial limbs on around 1,000 people. This will be a record in itself," Mehta said.

Jaipur Foot is a rubber-based prosthetic leg for people with below-knee amputations.
