Union Minister and Congress leader Salman Khurshid on Saturday criticised Gujarat government's ban on Jaswant Singh's controversial book, saying it had nothing that warranted such an action.
"I don't think there is anything in the book for which a ban should be imposed," he said.
He was talking to reporters here after inaugurating the Delhi Book Fair where the book, 'Jinnah,India, Partition, Independence', is on sale.

Khurshid said those who have imposed the ban should make their position clear behind taking such a measure. "Such a ban should be imposed on the least number of books," he said.
He said if any controversial book is banned there should be some mechanism whereby it is revoked once the tension surrounding it is over.
The Minority Affairs Minister said people in a democratic country are against banning books.
