Minor boy killed in firing

A nine year old boy was killed and another person was injured after the guests in a engagement ceremony indulged in celebratory fire which hit the victims, police said.

The incident occurred at Atroli area near Ghaziabad during an engagement ceremony late Wednesday evening. Both the families took part in heavy celebratory firing. Nitin Kumar was hit by a bullet, which led to his death on the spot, while the other person was critically injured. "The family members tried to hide the death of the minor. We were told by an informer," SSP Raghubir Lal said.

A case has been registered.
