Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd (DGSCL) — concessionaire for Delhi-Gurgaon expressway from km 14.300 to km 42 on NH-8 — denied having any such agreement with Shyam Sistema Tele Services Ltd, the company that owns the MTS brand.
“…the company does not have any arrangement/agreement with M/s. Sistema Shyam Tele Services Ltd. or MTS or any other company whomsoever whereby free access is to be granted to any vehicle at the toll gates on any date. Accordingly, the said news reports are incorrect and without any authorisation,” DGSCL said in a statement on Friday.
Meanwhile, MTS launched its services in Delhi and NCR on Thursday. It is offering per second billing to customers — one paise per second for local calls and 2 paisa per second for STD calls.
Full talk-time will be available on MTalk, on all recharges including even mini-recharges of Rs10 and Rs 20.
“There was some confusion about the sanctions received by the event management agencies concerned and the company would soon issue a statement,” said an MTS official, who did not wish to be named since he is not authorised to talk to the media.
