Mumbai-based witness to be questioned in case

Luke Pomersbach, a Royal Challengers Bangalore player, allegedly manhandled the victim’s fiancé, Sahil Peerzada, who is also from Mumbai.

A senior police officer said that they would approach Seraj, who left for Mumbai hours after the incident on Friday, and ask him to come to Delhi and join the investigation.

“We will question Seraj and record his statement. He was present in the room where the victim was allegedly molested by Pomersbach before assaulting her fiancé. Seraj’s statement will help corroborate the victims’ versions,” said the senior officer.

According to the officer, investigators have taken Peerzada’s help to get Seraj’s contact number and residential address. “Since Peerzada was not fit to give a statement earlier, we could not get more information,” the officer added.

In a CCTV footage scanned by investigators, Seraj is seen accompanying the victims and Pomersbach to the room where the entire incident took place.

Investigators have also recorded the statement of Vikas Yadav, the security guard who was on duty that night on the 16th floor of the hotel. In his statement, a source said, Yadav told the police that he had met the 27-year-old Australian cricketer in the elevator and had accompanied him to the 16th floor.

“As narrated by the victim, Yadav also said that he had seen Pomersbach knocking at the door and hurling abuses at her,” the officer said.
