On Sunday, the police questioned more than 100 people at the site where Kumar’s company is carrying out construction. The police said Kumar had constructed residential complexes in east and northeast Delhi. He had undertaken construction of similar buildings in the Greater Kailash area.

“We had called employees working at the construction sites, as the victim used to visit the sites regularly. The domestic helps and drivers of Kumar have been also questioned,” said a police official.

“So far, no ransom call has been received and various teams are working on technical details to trace Kumar,” said Ajay Chaudhry, additional commissioner of police (southeast).

The crime branch of the Delhi Police also joined the investigation on Sunday and is working on a few leads.

Kumar went missing after he left his Greater Kailash III residence in his Toyota Corolla car at 9pm on Friday. As he was blessed with a grandchild the same day, he had promised his family that he would be back in an hour. But after two hours when he did not return, his family tried to contact him on his two mobile phones, which were found to be switched off. It was only then that his family lodged a missing person's report at the CR Park police station.

On Saturday morning, the police traced his car at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida.

“It appears that he went to Noida taking the Sarita Vihar route. We are scanning his call details and are questioning people who had talked to him last,” the official added.

It was only after the UP Police informed Kumar’s family about the car lying abandoned at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida that they informed the Delhi Police.
