The cutoff lists for Delhi University will be available to the students at a click of a button this year, courtesy a number of mobile apps.

The apps, called ‘DU & U’ and ‘Pocket DU’, have been developed by former students of the university and have been designed to provide information such as cut-offs and college locations.

The DU & U app, for example, provides students with cutoff, college locations and even popular hangout spots around the college campuses.

“When I had first come to the university there was a lot of confusion about how to skim through long cutoff lists and how to zero down on preferred colleges. I guess all the students applying to DU have faced this problem. This is what motivated me to design this app,” said Anurag Kumar, a former student of DU’s Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC).

The application is available on Google playstore for download and provides both academic and recreational information to the new students.

“For example if someone needs to know about the 5th cutoff list of BSc (H) Botany at Acharya Narendra Dev College, then they can use this app. Cutoff lists will be updated on the app as and when they are released by the university, ” said Omprakash Yadav, co-founder of DU & U.

The other app that is likely to catch a student’s fancy this year is ‘Pocket DU’.

This application not only caters to new comers but also is tailor made for catering to the needs of current DU students. This application is a combined effort of former CIC student Puneet Kumar, Vikas and Sagar, who are still part of CIC.
