Members of political parties like the BJP, SP and RLD assured the gathered Tibetans that they will do "whatever is required" for the cause.

Speaking at a function organized by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the elected government of Tibetans-in-exile, BJP MP Yashwant Sinha said he would invite Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama to address the Parliament during the budget session next month.

He also called the self-immolation (by Tibetans) "the ultimate sacrifice an individual can make for one's cause".

At the protest site, around 2,000 Tibetans and 500 Buddhist monks, living in exile, had gathered to protest against Chinese rule in Tibet and sought support from the Indian government and political parties.

"I feel bad when I see young Tibetans who are living away from their motherland and in other countries for past 50 to 60 years. Now there is a need to keep our political differences aside and stand with you," BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said while addressing the gathering.

Rashtriya Lok Dal MP Jayant Chaudhary assured the protesters that he would raise Tibet's issue in the Budget session of the Parliament.

Lok Janshakti Party MP Ram Vilas Paswan also condemned the alleged atrocities committed by China in Tibet.
