According to media reports, the Cabinet Secretary has been tasked with finding out why deadlines were not being met. Aside from deadline being negated, reports have been rife lately about the lapses and rampant corruption in CWG projects.

The deadline for all Commonwealth Games related projects ended on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit tried to play down the episode by saying "The work is going on and I will take care of it as chief minister. There is no need to panic. I believe these will be the best ever Games."

Recently, after finding serious irregularities in almost all the 15 works inspected by the Central Vigilance Commission 's Chief Technical Examiner's (CTE) wing so far, the Commission has sent its report to the organisations concerned and directed them to fix the responsibility against officers for the lapses.
