Teams of Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) left for Bharatpur, Kotputli, Jhunjhunu and Udaipur districts of Rajasthan, on Tuesday evening, in this connection.

Of the roughly 900 reserved category winners, over 300 belong to various villages in Rajasthan.

Police said the statements of the winners in Rajasthan would serve as an “important piece of evidence” to ascertain the extent of the fraud in the DDA draw.

“The team would tally the signatures on the forms with those of the supposed winners. If they (the allottees) say they never signed the forms, we would register a case and make them complainants,” said an officer.

Police said they would examine the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe certificates attached with the forms besides finding out the names of the property dealers at whose behest the bank drafts were made and loans were sanctioned. Police said they would also question the officials of the Income Tax department.

In another related development, the police have identified the printing press where around 1 lakh documents to support the application forms were forged.
