Properties of 3 'power thieves' to be attached

In a first of its kind, a special court dealing with power theft cases has ordered the attachment of properties of three "power thieves" who defaulted in their payments even after settling their cases with private discoms. HT reports.

In a first of its kind, a special court dealing with power theft cases has ordered the attachment of properties of three "power thieves" who defaulted in their payments even after settling their cases with private discoms.

The order came after the discoms filed execution pleas with the court. A BSES official said after settling their cases and agreeing to pay their fines in instalments, these people had stopped making payments after paying one or two installments.

The official said around 996 people have defaulted in their settlements arrived at Lok Adalats.
