Rickshaw puller rapes 12-year-old

The Delhi Police have arrested a 31-year-old rickshaw puller for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Mehrauli area of south Delhi on Sunday.

The Delhi Police have arrested a 31-year-old rickshaw puller for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Mehrauli area of south Delhi on Sunday. The police said the girl, a native of Jharkhand, had come to Delhi to live with her relatives and the accused, identified as Vijay Kumar, was known to them.

“Kumar met her at a nearby market where she had gone to buy some fast food. Kumar told her that he would take her to a better fast food restaurant but instead, took her to an isolated place and raped her,” said a senior police officer. Kumar stays with his wife and two children in Saidulajab area of Mehrauli in a rented accommodation. “Kumar has been arrested from his home,” the officer added.
