Fashion designer Rohit Bal, suffered a heart attack on Tuesday. While Bal’s family insisted it was an anxiety attack, sources in Medanta–The Medicity in Gurgaon said it was a “sizeable one”.

Bal, who was rushed to Aashlok Hospital in Safdarjung Enclave following complaints of acute pain early Tuesday, was moved to Medanta at 5 pm.

The designer is under the supervision of cardiac surgeon Dr Naresh Trehan, who refused to comment.

Dr Alok Chopra of Aashlok, said it was a heart strain. “It’s a potential problem but nothing to be scared about,” he said.

The designer is said to have been suffering from high blood pressure for some time.

Bal’s close friend and model Lalit Tehlan, who admitted him to the hospital, said, “I don’t know the status, but it’s nothing serious for sure. I just spoke to him and he’s doing fine.”
