"As far as Sarabjit's status, we told her (Nirmala Deshpande) that we will do our best and it is under review," Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Sherry Rehman told reporters in New Delhi.
Rehman was in the national capital to attend the funeral of veteran Gandhian Nirmala Deshpande, who died on Thursday.
Deshpande had on a number of occasions raised Sarabjit's issue with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.
Despandhe's aide Shivnath had claimed that Musharraf had told her a fortnight ago that he did not want Sarabjit to be hanged.
