A 60-year-old, Kiran Soni, wife of a jeweller Sricharan Soni, was murdered at her residence in northeast Delhi's Harsh Vihar on Sunday.

The incident occurred bet-ween 7pm and 9pm, when the victim was alone in their second floor residence, police said.

The domestic help, Ranjit, has been arrested. "He has admitted to the murder and said he and his aides did not intend to murder her as they only wanted to rob the house. But when she resisted, they allegedly attacked her, leading to her death," the officer said.
