Education: She did her Masters in English from Miranda House.

Political career: Was a member of 7th Lok Sabha and held portfolios including Parliamentary Affairs minister. Became CM for the first time in 1998. Followed it up with another victory in 2003.

Family: Husband Vinod Dikshit was an IAS officer. Their son Sandip is a MP while daughter Latika works in the social sector. Dikshit is a big time movie buff. “The last movie I saw was Welcome to Sajjanpur. Among the present lot, my favourite is Shahid Kapur while my all time favorite actor continues to be Rock Hudson. I can see Come September any number of times even today,” she said.

Cars: She travels in a white Ambassador. Her children have their own cars.
