The Delhi Police have arrested two men for their alleged involvement in at least five theft cases in several posh colonies of south Delhi, police said on Wednesday.

Identified as Deepak Kumar, 20, and Amit Kumar, 22, the duo was arrested from the Sheikh Sarai and Jagadamba Colony recently.
According to the police, they have solved five cases of house theft and recovered stolen jewellery worth at least R25 lakh from them.
"Deepak and Amit had recently burgled the house of Aarti Setia in Sheikh Sarai, from where they had escaped with jewellery and valuables worth at least Rs 25 lakh, in addition to three cameras," said Chhaya Sharma, deputy commissioner of police (south).
Police said the duo would roam around in posh colonies and target locked homes.
"They would conduct a complete reconnaissance of the area they wanted to target and strike wherever they noticed a house locked," DCP Sharma said.
According to police, the duo would break open the door of such houses with iron rods.
Strangely, the thieves would take away only jewellery and valuables. "Deepak works in a car accessories shop and used his expertise with accessories to perpetrate the incidents. We have arrested the duo for their involvement in the crime and further investigation into their previous involvement in similar cases is underway," Sharma added.
