Tagore International wins technology award at Shanghai

Seven students and two teachers from the Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar won the first prize for the presentation of their model of a green city called ANKRAST at the Shanghai International Youth Science and Technology Expo 2012 held in Shanghai. The model was that of an eco-friendly city. The teachers' presentation based on green technology also bagged the first prize.

The delegation visited the Estuary science and technology museum of Yangtze River Museum, Baoshan Interna-tional Folk Arts Exposition, Shanghai circus world and Shanghai science and technology museum.

Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, Gurgaon students witnessed a western opera classical singing. The Norwegian musical ensemble comprising one pianist and three opera singers gave their first performance in India, under the aegis of SPIC MACAY and Concerts Norway. After lighting of the lamp, one of the three internationally acclaimed singers Rita Heigre gave a brief introduction to their composition. The opera mesmerised the audience. Principal, Dr. Ruchi Seth complimented the artists for their spectacular performance.

Gurukul — The School, Ghaziabad as a part of their international collaboration exchanges held an interaction programme with the students of Glenelg Country School, USA, The Baldwin School, USA and the Haveford School USA. The delegation planted trees in the school premises. The guests were felicitated by the director, Sachin Vats and principal Seema Sahay with the madhubani paintings made by students of Gurukul.

The session was very informative and interactive. The director of the school congratulated both the schools for having partnered together on various projects and wished to carry this relationship in future. Principal, Seema Sahay conveyed her warm wishes for their enriching stay in India.

Vishwa Bharati Public School, Noida organised an inter-school cultural festival, 'Resplendence'. It included 'Dab 'n' splash', the annual inter-school painting and drawing competition, sanskrit shloka chanting competition judged by Chander Bhushan, Professor, Saint Stephens College, DU and Sunil Kumar Choubey from the Sarvodya Kalyan Vidhyala, the inter school Under — 16 Athletic Meet. 'Arghya', the annual inter-school music fest was organised, followed by Hindi recitation conducted for primary students. The judges awarded the winners.
