Three civic officials suspended

The Slum and JJ department of the MCD is once again under the scanner with the MCD Commissioner finding irregularities in the slum dwellers relocation project, Sawda Ghewra, in Narela.

MCD Commissioner KS Mehra has suspended three officials, Sayed Hameed Ali, executive engineer, Slum and JJ department, Assistant Engineer RC Nawani, and assistant sanitary inspector of the sanitation department of the MCD Ashok Chitkara, with immediate effect.

A plot of land at Sawda Ghewra Village was placed at the disposal of Slum and JJ Department for re-location of slum dwellers. However, a number of shops have come up in the area while commercial use of this land is not allowed.
