In a series of reports, Hindustan Times recently highlighted that while motorists have to spend hours in the narrow, choked car lanes of the corridor, VIP vehicles manage to zoom through the bus lanes.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SN Shrivastava said they would strengthen prosecution on the corridor, particularly the bus lane. “If needed, there would be additional deployment too,” he said.
When the corridor was thrown open to public, there were 10 patrol motorcycles and about 35 traffic personnel on 5.8-kilometre stretch, apart from traffic marshals. At present, there are two traffic motorcycles and about 10 traffic personnel.
