Two youngsters were critically injured when a rival group fired at them over a a cricket field at Lajpat Nagar area of Ghaziabad on Tuesday afternoon.

Raju Tyagi (19) and Yogesh Sharma (22) were injured when their rival cricket-team from Sahibabad fired guns at players from Shyam Park area.
“We were playing cricket behind Lajpart Rai PG College. More than 10 players from the other team started indiscriminate firing at us. One of the shots hit me on the left hand,” said Raju Tyagi at MMG district hospital in Ghaziabad.
The police later conducted raids in Sahibabad and nabbed three of the accused after local residents staged protests.
“The three were identified by the players from Shyam Park area,” SP (City) Rahul Yadvendu said.
